The Hug and Pint

We were asked by Glasgow venue and vegan kitchen The Hug and Pint to develop a brand identity for their opening in July of 2015. The name for the venue was chosen from the title of the 2003 Arab Strap album ‘Monday at The Hug and Pint’. The reason for the choice of name was to reflect the venues’ alternative spirit while at the same time demonstrating a link to the local music scene which it represents and supports.
 
From the initial typographic style a brand programme was developed which encompassed all the required elements for the venue, signage, menus, stationery, posters, internal graphics, promotional elements and an online presence. We chose to display the core identity in a strong colour which could work across all media and then coupled this with a subtle colour palette which could be varied to provide a point of difference in all the materials.
